What I Learned Today

social networking:

• Google owns a microblogging service called Jaiku. My "handle" is gbkgwyneth.
  
• I shouldn't say bacon when I mea meatless breakfast strips (aka "fake bacon").
  
• We're paying too much for our webhoster. We have the basic plan, but the silver plan costs what we are currently paying and offers more benefits, like mySQL.

work life:

• A former co-worker (and twitter friend) has joined Gurobi, a company started by former ILOGgers, one of who was my PhD thesis advisor.

pine lake life:

• Neighbors can be very kind - mine cut my grass for me today and refused payment.

random:

• All three strands of fiesta lights still work, even though untangling was a course in knot theory.
